Friendship Stew
We had an incredible November! We shared a ton of memories and learned SO much. On the last day before the Thanksgiving break, we made friendship stew. Each student brought a vegetable and I supplied the meat and crackers. We all came together to create a delicious stew. And we even shared with our neighbor students, Mrs. Taylor's class. While eating and enjoying each other's company, we read Stone Soup by Marcia Brown. I am so thankful for all of the awesome students in our class and the incredible parents who support us.

Walkies Web
For those who missed family reading night ~ I wanted to fill you in on our focus. The first grade team focused on Walkies Web. This is a website that we use daily in our classes. The focus of the website is on our reading series, Scott Foresman.

Pumpkins...Pumpkins...Pumpkins!!!
We've had an incredible October!! We studied pumpkins off and on for most of October. We compared apples and pumpkins, learned about the life cycle of a pumpkin, tasted homemade and store bought pumpkin seeds, and created countless graphs and charts. We had a lot of fun adding some of our new information to our science journals.

Parts of a Plant
We had a wonderful time creating our candy flowers. We studied parts of a plant and decided we needed to make our learning hands-on. We had a great time doing just that and an even better time enjoying the finished product. :)
